Description
La Plume is French for feather. When I painted this picture, I felt it represented ‘weightlessness’. It’s as if the cares of this world are thrown off for a moment and there is a lightness in one’s heart.
Feathers also make me think of angels and angel wings; the soft whisper of a feather against your cheek, the sweet fragrance of love drifting through the air, a kind murmur in your ear. A feather is a sign of protection (like being carried on the wings of an eagle).
