Our store is a wonderfully eclectic collection of creative ingenuity, up-cycling, re-purposing, and great design with the inclusion of a unique Charity Golf Store. We do confuse newcomers until we explain who we are and what we do. You may browse through Golf Books and Golf Equipment as easily as selecting from a large range of hand made cushions, cards, and ottomans for a gift.
Our Store Manager Michelle is also the business mentor for our students with intellectual disabilities. We have approximately eight volunteers who help out in-store and six students currently going through our Business, Retail, and Creativity program. Head of Creative Projects, Jill Keating is an accomplished artist and works very hard on many creative ideas and projects including our annual Art Competition/Calendar helping Michelle to roll out some unique creative concepts for our trainees and students.
President and PGA Professional, Darrell Dalton is in store as often as possible when not on the golf course giving lessons or delivering specialty golf programs at the Nine Hole private course at Diddillibah and Nambour Golf Club. Members and customers appreciate Darrell’s advice on golf equipment, lessons or the right book to help with their slice. Our disability students are keen to learn all they can from Coach on course and in-store.
Our product range is diverse and our business model is unique.
With donations of raw materials making up most of our building blocks GPAI Creative works on projects to develop processes and creative experiences for our students who not only assist with concept and design but are encouraged to see the end game or the final product ready for sale. Our students are involved from the receiving of the donation to the selling of the product to the customer in-store. Able to offer their own style or creativity ideas has enabled our students to expand their imagination and their ownership of the goods created. In some cases, the student can start their own enterprise and develop their own brand and range which will be sold in the GPAI Store. A great success so far and more to come with our larger space downstairs in our Basement Studio.

GPAI is committed to reducing landfill here on the Sunshine Coast. Utilising donated raw materials from our local community, whether paper, fabric, keys, timber, Dacron, buttons and baubles, we encourage our students with intellectual disabilities to work with our creative team to engage in experimenting, contemplating, and creating amazing projects.
These finished items are available for sale in our Currie Street Nambour store or at our online store.
