WELCOME TO OUR CHARITY STORE
Our GPAI store is situated in the main street of Nambour, a lovely country town on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. Our retail gift store is located between McDonalds, Heretics Haven, and Downtown Burgers (great if you need a snack, a slurpy or love gaming) and our Charity Golf Store operates from Queen Street ground level studio.
Our store is a wonderful eclectic collection of creative ingenuity, up-cycling, re-purposing and great design with a hint of innocence as our designer students have an intellectual disability and a unique perspective on life.
The Charity Golf Store is an impressive and expansive area beneath our Currie Street retail store. We confess it is an unusual arrangement as our charity operates on two levels, with no internal staircase. This is due to the revitalisation of Chadwick Chambers original car park which now houses the full range of pre-loved and new golf products, golf simulator and golf repair station.
Our Store Manager, Michelle is also the business mentor for our students with intellectual disabilities. We have four staff and a number of dedicated volunteers who help out in store or support students currently going through our Business, Retail and Creativity program. We work very hard on a number of creative ideas and projects that have some brave new concepts.
Our product range is diverse and our business model is unique.
With donations of raw materials making up most of our building blocks GPAI Creative works on projects to develop processes and creative experiences for our students who not only assist with concept and design, but are encouraged to see the end game or the final product ready for sale. Our students are involved from the receiving of the donation to the selling of the product to the customer in store. Able to offer their own style or creativity ideas has enabled our students to expand their imagination and their ownership of the goods created. In some cases, the student is able to start their own enterprise developing their own brand and range which will be sold in the GPAI Store. A great success so far and a confidence booster.
